Data Analysis HOW-TO

This video explains how to do the 0-degree Data Analysis exercise. It can also be found in the Help section.

Steps

  1. Read the information available on the right side of the screen
  2. Put the exercise in full-screen mode using the button on the bottom left corner of the exercise
  3. Press New Indication button
  4. Adjust C-Scan range as needed
  5. Adjust Gate A to cover the indication
  6. Move the vertical red cursor in the B-Scan over the indication to find the highest amplitude
  7. Press Get Max Amp button
  8. Place the vertical black cursor on the C-Scan over the widest part of the indication
  9. Move the horizontal black cursor in the C-Scan up until the A-Scan signal falls to the -6dB value
  10. Press X1 button
  11. Move the horizontal black cursor in the C-Scan down until the A-Scan signal falls to the -6dB value
  12. Press X2 button
  13. Move the horizontal red cursor in the A-Scan until it is centered on the peak of the signal from the indication
  14. Press Y1 button
  15. Place the horizontal black cursor in the C-Scan over the widest part of the indication
  16. Move the vertical black cursor in the C-Scan to the left until the A-Scan signal falls to the -6dB value
  17. Press Z1 button
  18. Move the vertical black cursor in the C-Scan to the right until the A-Scan signal falls to the -6dB value
  19. Press Z2 button
  20. Press the Accept or Reject button according to the Flaw acceptance criteria
  21. Press Validate
  22. If the answers are incorrect, the answer line in the table turns red
  23. If the answers are correct, the answer line and the button Skip turn green
  24. If a second indication is present, click on New Indication button and start the process from step 4
  25. Press Reset to start the exercise over
